Rain is a precious gift of nature .With increase in population the importance of water has increased .Most of the countries have realisedt his fact and have taken necessary steps to conserve and retain water.
During rainfall the pure rain water drains through the rivers to the sea and becomes impure which cannot be used.This leads to wastage of pure rain water.Since agriculture is dependent on monsoon,therefore conservation and storage of rain water is of prime importance.
Currently in agriculture,irrigation is mainly done due to the use of underground waterby using pumpsets and submersibles,leading to a sharp deterioration in ground water level.
This is a major issue for concern of the World.
Water accumulated in pond using Geomembrane(5 or more layers of HDPE pond's lining) can be used for irrigation which can further stop the ground water level.

• Recommended ratio of cement sand is 1:4 for bricks lining
• Ensure a systematic procedural follow up and the use of right quality material and good workmanship
• Make a judicious selection of type of lining to be adopted which are site specific
• Wherever percolation is essential for recharging of ground water, Lining film should not be used

• Don't drag the film
• Don't walk on the film while it is being laid, and once it is laid, don't expose it to sharp objects or rough handling
• Avoid exposure of the film to sunlight
